A 1 HP belt-drive motor running at 1725 rpm on 115/208-230 V for HVAC and compressor duty
This Dayton 6K321 is a single-phase belt drive motor rated at 1 horsepower and 1725 rpm. It operates on 115, 208 or 230 volts and uses a capacitor start design built for continuous duty. The steel and rigid plastic construction suits HVAC systems, compressors and similar equipment.
It suits installers who need a standard 1 HP motor for belt driven fans, pumps or tools where the supply is 115, 208 or 230 volts. It does not suit buyers who need a three-phase motor, a different horsepower rating, a variable speed drive or an enclosure type other than open drip proof.
The motor runs on single-phase power at 115, 208 or 230 volts so the supply must match one of these voltages exactly. If the installation requires three-phase power or a voltage not listed here this motor will not work.

The motor uses dual-voltage windings; follow the wiring diagram on the nameplate to link the correct leads for 115 V or 208-230 V, and remember to move the internal jumper strap — skipping that strap change is the most common error.
The capacitor-start design relies on a centrifugal switch and start capacitor; inspect the switch contacts for pitting every few thousand hours and replace the capacitor if the motor hums or fails to reach 1725 rpm.
The ODP housing relies on ambient airflow for cooling; if the surrounding temperature rises or dust restricts the vent openings, the winding temperature will hit its thermal limit first, causing the overload to trip.
