Single-phase capacitor-start motor delivers 1 HP at 1725 RPM on 115/230 V supply
The Dayton 6K727 is a single-phase AC motor rated at 1 horsepower for agricultural and industrial tasks. It operates on 115/230 volt supply and turns at 1725 RPM. A capacitor-start design provides strong starting torque for heavy loads. The totally enclosed fan-cooled construction protects windings from dust and moisture.
This motor replaces split-phase or shaded-pole units that lack the torque to start under load. The capacitor-start winding delivers a decisive torque boost at startup, reducing stall risk on conveyors, augers and pumps. The jump is worth it when the driven equipment demands high breakaway torque or frequent starts. Single-phase wiring keeps installation simple on standard farm circuits.
At 1 HP the motor comfortably handles typical feed augers, ventilation fans and small water pumps. Continuous duty rating means it can run for extended periods without overheating. Headroom diminishes when voltage drops below 115 volts or when ambient temperatures exceed the enclosure rating. The motor runs out of capacity for larger grain dryers or multi-stage compressors that exceed the 1 HP rating.

The motor has a 5/8 inch diameter shaft and standard 4‑bolt foot pattern for farm‑duty mounting.
Connect the leads for 115 V or 230 V as shown on the nameplate diagram, then secure the capacitor cover; the step often missed is changing the internal jumper links to match the supply voltage.
Inspect the capacitor, centrifugal switch, bearings and fan cover periodically; replace the capacitor or bearings when they show wear or noise.
