Small HVAC replacement motor

The Dayton 71633695M is a shaded-pole motor rated at 1/70 HP and 1550 RPM for 115 V AC single-phase supply. It fits equipment that calls for a 3.3 frame with stud mounting and clockwise shaft rotation viewed from the shaft end.

Open air-over enclosure and auto thermal protection

The open air-over design relies on the driven fan wheel for cooling, while automatic thermal protection and Class B insulation guard against overload. Continuous duty rating and a 1.0 service factor mean the motor can run non-stop within its 40 °C ambient limit.

Eleven watts output for light air-moving loads

At 11 W output and 0.7 A full-load current the motor comfortably drives small blower wheels and draft-inducer fans in residential furnaces or packaged units. It is not usable at 200 V or 208 V, so installers needing multi-voltage flexibility must choose a different model.

Questions about this item

How often should I expect to service or replace the bearings on this shaded-pole motor?

The motor uses a shaded-pole design with sleeve bearings; with continuous duty at 40 °C ambient, plan on checking lubrication annually and expect bearing replacement every two to three years.

What limits continuous operation before the thermal protection trips?

The auto-reset thermal protector will open if the winding temperature exceeds the Class B insulation limit during sustained 0.7 A load at 40 °C ambient.

How much heat and noise does the open air-over enclosure produce when running all day?

The open air-over enclosure dissipates roughly 11 W of heat directly into the airflow and runs at a single 1550 rpm speed, producing a steady low hum typical of shaded-pole motors.
