Rectangular Fire Damper for Low Pressure HVAC

This Dayton fire damper fits rectangular ductwork measuring 7-3/4 by 11-3/4 inches. It carries a 1-1/2 hour fire rating and meets UL 555, NFPA 80, 90A and 101, IBC, CSFM and NYC MEA standards. The galvanised steel body installs vertically or horizontally in dynamic airflow conditions. It is not for systems that require a three-hour or higher fire resistance rating.

Dynamic Mounting With Fusible Link Release

The damper mounts in vertical or horizontal orientations and operates dynamically within low pressure HVAC systems. A 165 degree Fahrenheit fusible link triggers automatic closure during a fire event. The 22 gauge galvanised steel construction provides the required structural integrity. The unit delivers 0.401 square feet of free area for airflow calculations. Installers must supply the recommended retaining angle separately.

Replaces Older Dampers Below Three Hour Rating

This model upgrades installations where the existing damper carries a fire resistance rating of less than three hours. The 1-1/2 hour rating satisfies many commercial code requirements without over-specifying. The jump is worth it when plan review demands current UL 555 and NFPA compliance. It does not suit applications that mandate a higher hourly rating or round duct connections.
