Questions about this item

Will this heatsink and bracket fit my Dell PowerEdge R540 or R440 server?

Yes, the heatsink is built for the second CPU socket in Dell PowerEdge R540 and R440 systems and includes the mounting bracket that matches those chassis.

What is the correct order for installing the fan, heatsink and bracket so the screws line up?

Attach the bracket to the motherboard first, then place the heatsink on the CPU, and finally secure the fan to the heatsink; skipping the bracket step leaves holes misaligned.

How often should I clean or replace the included fan to keep the second CPU cool?

Clean the fan every six months with compressed air and plan to replace it after about two years of continuous operation if airflow drops or noise increases.
