Purpose and fit

This black aluminium ball-top cap fits 2" x 2" square steel or aluminium fence posts. It protects the post end from weather and adds a decorative finish to residential or light-commercial fencing.

Build and daily use

Cast aluminium with a black glossy powder coating resists corrosion and fading. The pressure-fit design seats securely without screws or brackets, and the cap can also be bonded to wooden posts using adhesive if required.

Upgrade context

The cap replaces missing or damaged flat tops that allow water ingress and rot. The jump is worthwhile when a fence needs both weather protection and a visible design accent without adding separate hardware.

Questions about this item

What post size does the pressure-fit design cap in practice?

The cap is designed for standard 2" x 2" square steel or aluminum posts and fits securely by pressure fit when the post matches that exact size.

What clearance or mounting depth does the aluminium ball-top cap need on a 2" x 2" post?

The cap slides over the outside of a 2" x 2" square post and sits on top; no brackets, screws or additional hardware are required for the pressure-fit installation.

How is the black powder-coated cap installed, and what step do people often miss?

Press the cap straight down onto a clean, square 2" x 2" metal post until it seats fully; the common mistake is leaving debris or a slight tilt that prevents a tight friction fit.
