Dell 15 Laptop 15.6 FHD i7 13th Gen

The Dell 15 laptop combines a 15.6 inch FHD 1920 x 1080 display with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1355U processor. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home and Office 2024 are pre-installed. The black chassis includes a backlit keyboard and SD card reader.

Thermals noise power normal use

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics share system memory and run within the processor package. The 10 core 12 thread CPU operates at a 1.20 GHz base with a 5.0 GHz turbo frequency. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 provide wireless connectivity. No discrete graphics card is fitted.

Who this is not for

Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for gaming or 3D rendering should look elsewhere. Users requiring a touchscreen display will not find one here. The single HDMI 1.4 port limits multi-monitor setups. No fingerprint reader is included for biometric login.

Questions about this item

How do I open the chassis to upgrade the 512GB PCIe SSD and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom screws, pry the base cover from the front edge, then disconnect the battery cable before touching the M.2 slot; skipping the battery disconnect is the common error.

Which component will likely need replacement first during the laptop's life?

The internal lithium-ion battery degrades with charge cycles and will need replacement before the soldered 16GB DDR4 memory or the 512GB PCIe SSD.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-1355U runs at 5.0 GHz Turbo for extended periods?

The 15W base power envelope forces the 10-core processor to throttle from 5.0 GHz once the cooling solution saturates, typically within minutes of sustained load.
