Dell 15G/16G 2400W server PSU

This 2400 watt unit carries an 80 Plus Platinum rating and fits Dell 15G and 16G rack servers. It is built for data-centre workloads that demand redundant, high-efficiency power. Buyers needing a lower-wattage or desktop-form-factor supply should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power draw

Platinum efficiency reduces waste heat during normal operation, helping rack cooling systems maintain stable temperatures. The 86 mm form factor aligns with standard server airflow paths for consistent thermal performance. Fan speed scales with load to balance acoustic output against component cooling needs.

Questions about this item

How do I install the M63JN 2400W PSU into a Dell R760 server and what step is commonly missed?

Slide the 86mm unit into the hot-plug bay until the latch clicks, then verify the green LED lights; the step often missed is fully seating the latch so the server recognises the supply.

What maintenance will the M63JN 2400W PSU need after deployment in a R750XA chassis?

Clean the intake mesh every six months to maintain airflow; the internal fan is sealed and not user-serviceable, so plan full unit replacement if the fan fails or efficiency drops.
