Capacity and interface

This Dell enterprise SSD provides 3.84TB of storage over a 24Gbps SAS connection. It uses mixed-use TLC flash with hardware encryption and FIPS certification. The 2.5-inch form factor fits standard server drive bays. It is built for workloads that demand both read and write endurance.

Suitable systems and limits

The drive is validated for a wide range of PowerEdge servers including R660, R760, R760XD2, R860, R960, T160, T360, T560 and MX760C. It also supports C6615, C6620, R260, R360, R470, R4715, R570, R5715, R660XS, R6615, R6625, R670, R6715, R6725, R760XA, R760XS, R7615, R7625, R770, R7715, R7725, XR5610 and XR7620. Buyers whose servers lack a 24Gbps SAS backplane or controller cannot use this drive.

Deciding specification

The 24Gbps SAS interface is the single specification that determines compatibility. A system must provide a matching 24Gbps SAS connection and support 2.5-inch SAS SSDs. Without that interface the drive will not function.

Questions about this item

Will this 3.84TB SAS SSD work in a Dell PowerEdge R760 server I already have?

Yes, the R760 is listed among the compatible PowerEdge models for this 2.5-inch 24Gbps SAS drive.

How can I confirm the drive is operating correctly once installed?

Check the server BIOS or RAID controller interface; the drive should appear with its full 3.84TB capacity and report a healthy SMART status.

Does the package include a drive tray or caddy for the 2.5-inch bay?

The drive is supplied as the bare 2.5-inch SSD only; a Dell hot-plug carrier must be purchased separately if your chassis requires one.
