190W Osram P-VIP Bulb Determines Fit

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 190W Osram P-VIP bulb housed in the Dell 468-8993 module. Only projectors designed for this exact lamp assembly will accept it, so verify your projector model requires this part number before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the Dell 468-8993 lamp arrive as a complete module or do I need to buy a separate housing?

The lamp is a fully assembled module that includes the Osram P-VIP 190W bulb already mounted in its housing, so no extra parts are required for installation.

Which of the four available versions of the 468-8993 should I choose for my projector?

Three versions are genuine OEM lamps — one from the original bulb maker, one sold by Dell, and one from an alternative OEM brand — while the fourth is a lower-cost compatible unit built with OEM parts; pick the OEM version that matches your preference for brand or budget.

What does the 5 000-hour rating mean for everyday use of this 190W lamp?

At the rated 5 000 hours the lamp should still deliver usable brightness; actual life varies with power settings, cooling and how often the projector is switched on and off.
