Questions about this item

Does the 90 W adapter run hot or make noise when powering a laptop all day?

The external 90 W brick has no fan and uses passive cooling, so it stays silent; normal warmth is expected under continuous load.

What must I already own for this 4.5 mm barrel-tip adapter to work with my Dell?

You need a Dell laptop whose charging port accepts a 4.5 mm barrel connector and requires up to 90 W of input power.

Will the 2 m cable reach a floor outlet while the laptop stays on a typical desk?

Yes, the 2 metre (about 6 feet) AC cable lets you place the adapter on the floor and still reach a standard desk height.
