DELL quad port 10GBe network daughter card with four ports

DELL

DELL 4X4RK Quad Port 10GBe NDC Network Daughter Card

SKU CH-DSD4-2HWD1

Adds four 10 GbE ports to compatible Dell servers through the NDC slot

  • Quad-port design delivers four 10 GbE links in one slot
  • NDC form factor fits supported Dell PowerEdge servers directly
  • Single card simplifies cabling and reduces rack space
  • 10 GbE throughput handles heavy virtualization and storage traffic
  • Plug-in daughter card installs without occupying a PCIe slot

Quad Port 10GBe Network Daughter Card

The DELL 4X4RK adds four 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports through a single Network Daughter Card slot. It targets administrators who need high-density server connectivity without occupying PCIe expansion bays. Buyers who require fibre-channel or InfiniBand interfaces should look elsewhere.

Thermals and power draw

The card draws power directly from the NDC connector and uses the server's existing airflow for cooling. No auxiliary power cables or dedicated fans are required. Acoustic impact depends entirely on the host chassis fan profile under load.

Bundled items and software

The package contains only the daughter card itself. Driver support is provided through the operating system or DELL's standard network adapter downloads. No management utilities, cables or mounting brackets are included.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 4X4RK quad-port 10GBe NDC daughter card, and which step is most often missed?

Align the card with the server’s dedicated NDC slot, press firmly until the connector seats fully, then secure the retention screw; the step most often missed is fastening that screw, which keeps the card from creeping loose under vibration.

What maintenance or replacement will the 4X4RK quad-port 10GBe NDC daughter card need over its service life?

The card has no moving parts or field-replaceable components; maintenance is limited to keeping the server’s air filters clean so airflow across the ports remains unobstructed.

What limit appears first on the 4X4RK quad-port 10GBe NDC daughter card during sustained 10 GbE traffic?

Sustained line-rate traffic on all four ports will hit the server’s NDC bus bandwidth ceiling before the card itself saturates, so total throughput is bounded by the host platform’s NDC implementation.
