Quad-port 10Gb server adapter

The DELL 540-BDLJ adds four RJ45 10Gb Ethernet ports to a compatible rack server through a single full-height PCIe slot. It targets administrators who need dense 10Gb connectivity for virtualisation, storage or high-throughput workloads.

Four ports of 10Gb headroom

Each port delivers up to 10Gbps, giving aggregate throughput that handles multiple virtual machines, backup streams or iSCSI traffic simultaneously. The adapter saturates when total demand exceeds the combined 40Gbps line rate or the host bus bandwidth.

Full-height bracket for rack chassis

The full-height form factor fits standard Dell PowerEdge R750, XR5610 and XR7620 servers without a low-profile bracket swap. Four RJ45 jacks use common copper cabling, simplifying rack cabling compared to SFP+ alternatives.

Questions about this item

Will the 540-BDLJ adapter fit in the same full-height slot as my existing Broadcom 57454 card?

Yes, this 540-BDLJ is a full-height adapter and installs in a standard full-height PCIe slot.

How can I confirm the quad 10Gb ports are active after installing the 540-BDLJ in my PowerEdge R750?

Check the link LEDs on each RJ45 port and verify all four 10Gb interfaces appear in the server BIOS or operating system network settings.

Does the 540-BDLJ package include mounting brackets for a Dell PowerEdge XR7620, or must I order them separately?

The adapter ships as a full-height card; any chassis-specific brackets required for the XR7620 are not included and must be sourced separately.
