Ready replacement for Latitude and Precision

This 68Wh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in Dell Latitude E5480, E5580, E5490, E5590 and Precision 15 3520, 3530 models. It is built for professionals who need a dependable power source when working away from a desk. The 4-cell design fits the 7.6V requirement of these specific notebooks. Verify the part number against your existing battery before ordering, as four different packs exist for these chassis.

Cool running and stable output

Lithium-ion chemistry keeps heat low during typical office workloads, so the laptop chassis stays comfortable on the lap. The pack delivers its rated 68Wh without voltage sag, avoiding the sudden shutdowns common with aged cells. No active cooling is required and the battery adds no audible noise to the system. Power draw matches the original specification, preserving the notebook's existing battery-life profile.

Swaps a worn or failed factory pack

This unit replaces a depleted original battery that no longer holds a useful charge. The upgrade is worthwhile when runtime has dropped below a full work session or when the laptop throttles due to an aging cell. It is not suited for users who need a higher-capacity pack than the factory 68Wh design, nor for models outside the listed Latitude and Precision series.

Questions about this item

How do I install this 4-cell 68Wh battery and what step is often missed?

Power off the laptop, unplug the AC adapter, remove the bottom case screws, disconnect the old pack, connect the new 7.6 V battery, then re-secure the case; many forget to unplug the AC adapter first.

What maintenance or replacement will this lithium-ion pack need later?

The 68 Wh pack will lose capacity over repeated charge cycles; when run-time no longer meets your needs, replace it with another compatible 4-cell unit.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy use?

The 68 Wh capacity ceiling determines how long the Precision 3520 or Latitude 5480 can run before the battery must be recharged.
