Dell 6H6FG 3TB SAS hard drive

The Dell 6H6FG is a 3TB 3.5-inch internal hard drive that spins at 7200 RPM and uses a SAS interface. It is built for desktop workstations and servers that need reliable, high-capacity storage on a serial-attached SCSI bus. The drive arrives new in retail or OEM packaging.

Who this suits and who it does not

This drive suits administrators expanding a SAS-based storage array or replacing a failed unit in a compatible Dell chassis. It is not for systems that lack a SAS backplane or host bus adapter. It is not for buyers who need a 2.5-inch form factor.

Deciding specification

The SAS interface is the single specification that determines compatibility; the drive will only operate when connected to a SAS controller or backplane that supports 3.5-inch, 7200 RPM enterprise drives.
