Dell 709MT 240W PSU

The Dell 709MT is a 240W power supply designed for Dell OptiPlex 790 and 990 Mini Tower desktops. It provides a direct replacement unit for those specific workstation chassis. Builders restoring or servicing these legacy systems will find the correct fit and connector layout.

Compatibility with OptiPlex 790 and 990

The decisive specification is confirmed compatibility with Dell OptiPlex 790 and 990 Mini Tower models only. This unit uses the proprietary pin-out and physical keying required by those motherboards. It will not fit standard ATX cases or other Dell form factors such as Small Form Factor or Ultra Small Form Factor variants.

Thermals and power draw

Rated at 240W continuous output, the supply delivers stable power for typical office components within the supported Mini Tower chassis. The internal fan regulates temperature using the case airflow path designed for the 790 and 990 platforms. Acoustic output remains low during standard productivity workloads.
