Dell 230W 19.5V AC Adapter

This 230-watt charger delivers 19.5 volts at 11.8 amps through a 4.5 by 3.0 millimetre grey tip. It is built for HP ZBook Fury, ZBook Power and ZBook Studio mobile workstations plus OMEN and Victus gaming laptops that require the higher 230-watt input. The unit includes a reinforced four-foot output cable and a standard AC power cord.

Suited for high-power HP workstations

Owners of HP ZBook Fury G7 through G10, ZBook Power G7 through G10 and ZBook Studio G3 through G9 models needing the full 230-watt supply will find the correct voltage and connector here. OMEN 16, 15, 17 and Victus 16, 15 users with the matching barrel size also fit. Buyers whose laptops charge through USB-C or require a different barrel diameter should look elsewhere.

Deciding specification: 4.5 by 3.0 millimetre grey

The connector size and polarity are the single detail that determines physical fit. If the original HP adapter uses the identical 4.5 millimetre outer diameter and 3.0 millimetre inner diameter with a grey tip, this unit will connect securely. A blue-tip or differently sized barrel will not mate with this plug.

Questions about this item

Does the 4.5x3.0mm grey tip match the charging port on my HP OMEN 16?

The 4.5x3.0mm grey tip is built for HP OMEN 16, 15 and 17 series as well as Victus 16 and 15 models listed in the compatibility data.

What is the common mistake when plugging this 230W adapter into a ZBook Fury?

Users sometimes leave the AC cord loosely seated in the brick; push it fully home until it clicks so the 19.5V 11.8A output stays stable.

When should I replace the 4ft cable on this 19.5V charger?

Replace the cable if the insulation frays, the copper core shows, or the connector wobbles in the laptop port.
