Alienware 16X Aurora Gaming Laptop

The Alienware 16X Aurora is a new 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Ultra 9 290HX processor with 24 cores. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory at 5600 MHz and a 4 TB SSD. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU provides dedicated gddr7 video memory. A 2560x1600 240Hz display and Windows 11 Pro complete the package.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

This laptop suits buyers who need a high-core-count mobile processor and a fast 240Hz panel for competitive gaming or heavy content creation. The 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and G-SYNC support help colour-critical work. Buyers who want more storage than the single 4 TB drive or who need a different GPU tier should look elsewhere.

Deciding Specification: 240Hz 2560x1600 Display

The 16-inch 2560x1600 panel running at 240Hz with NVIDIA G-SYNC is the specification that decides fit. It delivers the high refresh rate and tear-free motion required for competitive play. If your workflow does not need that refresh rate or the 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, a lower-specification screen may be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 24-core Intel Ultra 9 290HX get during all-day loads?

The 24-core Intel Ultra 9 290HX is built for sustained multi-threaded workloads and long gaming sessions inside the 16-inch chassis, with the Alienware thermal design moving heat away from the CPU and dedicated RTX 5070 GPU.

What peripherals or accounts must I already own to start using this laptop?

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the 1080p FHD RGB-IR HDR webcam supports Windows Hello facial recognition, so you can sign in with your Microsoft account and begin working immediately.

Will my older USB-A mouse and external 1080p monitor work with the Alienware 16X?

The laptop includes a high-speed USB-A port for legacy mice and an HDMI output that drives external 1080p displays at their native refresh rate alongside the internal 240Hz panel.
