Genuine Dell OEM Audio Jack Cover

This genuine Dell OEM plastic cover replaces the missing or damaged audio jack protector on Inspiron 2100, Latitude LS and Latitude L400 laptops. It snaps into the chassis port to keep dust and debris out of the internal connector. The part carries Dell number 742RH and matches the original factory specification exactly. Buyers restoring a vintage Dell notebook to fully functional condition will find this the correct fit.

Upgrade from a missing or broken cover

If the original cover is lost, the exposed jack collects lint and risks bent contacts, so fitting this part restores the intended protection. The jump is worth it when the laptop is used regularly and the port needs to stay clean for reliable headphone or microphone connection. Owners who never use the audio jack or who prefer an external USB audio adapter gain no benefit from this replacement.
