What this charger replaces

This 65 W DELL BRJ65190342 AC adapter delivers 19 V at 3.42 A and fits Acer Chromebook 11, 13, 14 and 15 models as well as selected Aspire, Swift and Spin laptops. It is a direct replacement for the original charger supplied with those devices.

Installation and common issues

The connector is a small 3.0 mm by 1.1 mm yellow or black tip that plugs straight into the laptop charging port. No tools or drivers are required. The most frequent mistake is ordering this adapter when the laptop uses the larger 5.5 mm by 1.7 mm barrel, which will not fit.

Check your laptop before ordering

Confirm that your model appears in the compatibility list, which includes Chromebook CB3, CB5, C720, C738T, C740 and Aspire 5 series among others. Verify the charging port accepts a 3.0 mm by 1.1 mm tip and that the original adapter was rated for 19 V output.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 19V 3.42A 65W adapter is working correctly after plugging it in?

The laptop charging indicator should light up and the battery icon must show it is receiving power; the adapter itself runs silently with no overheating thanks to built-in short-circuit and over-voltage protection.

What comes in the box and is a separate power cord required?

The package includes one 65W AC power adapter with a 3.0mm x 1.1mm tip and one detachable AC power cord, so nothing else needs to be purchased for standard use.

My Acer model is listed under both 45W and 65W — which capacity should I choose?

Select the 65W version; it is downward compatible with 45W models and supplies the higher current needed for faster charging under load.
