Dell C722T 146GB SAS Drive

The Dell C722T is a 146GB 2.5-inch internal hard drive spinning at 10000 RPM. It uses a SAS 6Gb/s interface and arrives as a bare drive in ESD protective packaging. This new drive suits servers or workstations needing fast, small-form-factor storage.

SAS 6Gb/s Interface Compatibility

This drive fits systems with a SAS 6Gb/s backplane or controller and a 2.5-inch bay. It is not for platforms that lack a SAS connection or cannot accommodate a 2.5-inch form factor. Buyers needing larger capacity or a different physical size should consider other options.

10000 RPM Spindle Speed

The 10000 RPM spindle speed determines the drive's random-access performance and sustained throughput. Verify that your chassis cooling can handle the heat output of a 10K drive before purchase.

Questions about this item

What host interface must my system provide for the SAS 6Gb/s drive?

The drive requires a SAS 6Gb/s host interface; a standard SAS controller or backplane with that link speed is needed for operation.

Will the 2.5" 10000 RPM unit fit in the same bay as my existing 3.5" drives?

The 2.5" form factor is physically smaller than a 3.5" bay, so a drive tray or adapter is necessary to secure it in a larger slot.

How can I confirm the 146GB drive is healthy after installation?

Run a SMART self-test and verify the reported capacity matches 146GB; the drive was SMART-tested before shipping.
