Thermals noise and power draw

Rated at 240W continuous output for typical office workloads. The original Dell cooling design handles normal thermal loads in the SFF enclosure. No independent noise or efficiency figures are supplied.

Sustained load behaviour

Designed to deliver the rated 240W during extended operation in the supported OptiPlex models. Long-term stability depends on case airflow and component power draw. No hold-up time or ripple data is provided.

Questions about this item

How do I install the D240ES-00 in a Dell Optiplex 390 SFF and what step is often missed?

Align the unit with the chassis rails, slide it in until the latch clicks, then connect the 24-pin motherboard and 4-pin CPU plugs; the step often missed is seating the latch fully before tightening the retention screw.

What maintenance or replacement will the D240ES-00 need later?

The internal fan bearings and electrolytic capacitors age over time; expect to replace the unit when fan noise rises or voltages drift under load.

What limit appears first on the D240ES-00 during sustained use?

The 240W total output ceiling is reached before thermal protection triggers, so continuous draw near that level will cause shutdown.
