Compatibility limited to IDE host interfaces

Questions about this item

What IDE controller must my motherboard provide for the D9404 to operate?

The drive connects through a standard IDE channel, so the motherboard needs an available IDE port and a 40-pin ribbon cable.

Will the D9404 share an IDE cable with an older hard drive without slowing it down?

It can share a cable as a secondary device, but the bus runs at the slower device's speed, so an older drive may limit overall throughput.
