Dell DC15255 laptop AMD Ryzen 7 7730U

This Dell DC15255 laptop pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8-core processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVME SSD. The 15.6 inch FHD touchscreen runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60 Hz refresh. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed. The 3.5 lb chassis measures 14.15 IN x 9.25 IN x 0.90 IN.

Ports webcam and wireless

One USB 3.2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and one USB 2.0 port handle peripherals. An HDMI output drives an external display. A 720p HD webcam, stereo speakers and a combo audio jack support video calls. Connectivity uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. An SD card reader adds removable-media access.

Memory ceiling and display limits

System memory tops out at 64 GB, so workloads needing more RAM cannot be accommodated. The 60 Hz panel caps motion smoothness for gaming or high-frame-rate content. The integrated AMD Radeon graphics share system memory and suit office and light creative tasks rather than heavy 3D rendering.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR4 memory be expanded later if I need more?

Yes, the system supports up to 64 GB of DDR4, so the installed 16 GB can be increased when required.

What limits performance first when the Ryzen 7 7730U runs at 4.50 GHz for long periods?

The 45 W power supply and 3-cell battery set the thermal and power envelope that the 8-core processor will hit under sustained load.

How loud and hot does the laptop get when it is used all day on the 15.6 inch FHD touchscreen?

The 45 W adapter and 3-cell battery mean the cooling system manages a modest heat output, so fan noise stays low during typical all-day office work.
