Dell DW1702 Wireless Mini-PCIe Card

The Dell DW1702 is a half-height Mini-PCI Express card that adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to compatible Dell laptops. It targets owners of supported Inspiron models who need a direct replacement for a failed or missing wireless module.

Atheros Draft N 802.11 b/g/n

The decisive specification is the Atheros Draft N controller supporting 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi alongside Bluetooth. This combination determines whether the card matches the original equipment specification for the listed Dell 5050 and DW1702 part numbers.

Half-height Mini-PCIe installation

Installation requires a free half-height Mini-PCIe slot and two antenna connectors on the motherboard. The most common issue is mismatched antenna cables or a BIOS whitelist that blocks unrecognised cards, so verify the slot type and whitelist status before fitting.
