Installation and common issues

Connect the USB-C plug to the laptop port and the AC cord to a mains socket; the connector is keyed so it only fits one way. The most frequent problem is selecting a model whose power rating or pin assignment does not match the original adapter, which prevents charging or triggers a firmware warning.

Questions about this item

How often will the USB-C cable or connector need replacing with daily use?

The charger uses a fixed USB-C connector rated for 65W output at 20V 3.25A; the cable is not detachable, so the whole unit is replaced if the connector wears.

What stops the adapter from delivering 65W continuously during long sessions?

The 20V 3.25A output is limited by the internal thermal design; sustained loads at 65W will trigger protection once the case reaches its temperature ceiling.

How hot and loud does the brick get when it runs all day at 65W?

The sealed 14.33in x 12.83in x 9.06in enclosure has no fan, so it runs silent; surface temperature rises until the built-in over-temperature circuit throttles output.
