2U rack server with 1.6 GHz Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core CPU, 24 GB DDR4, two 300 GB 15K SAS drives, H330 RAID controller and dual 750 W redundant power supplies
Installed Memory Size 24GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 15K
CPU Model E5-2603 V3
The Dell PowerEdge R530 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz with 24 GB of DDR4 memory installed. It ships with two 300 GB 15K SAS drives and a Perc H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60, plus dual 750 W redundant power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management.
This configuration fits organisations that want up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug drive bays with hardware RAID and redundant power in a compact rack form. It is not suited for buyers who need more than 24 GB of memory today or who require more than two 300 GB drives without adding their own disks. The single-socket layout also limits multi-threaded capacity compared to dual-processor builds.
The platform supports up to 384 GB of DDR4 using twelve DIMM slots, six per processor socket, with modules of 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB running up to 2400 MT/s depending on the CPU installed. The current 24 GB baseline leaves ample headroom for future expansion within the same chassis.
