SKU CH-WB04-6SV82

300 GB 15k SAS 3.5-inch internal hard drive for high-performance desktop storage

  • 300 GB capacity stores operating system and data files
  • 15k RPM spindle speed accelerates random read and write operations
  • SAS interface connects directly to compatible RAID controllers
  • 5 inch form factor fits standard desktop drive bays
  • New condition ensures full manufacturer specification and reliability

Capacity and interface

The Dell F617N is a 300 GB internal hard drive with a SAS interface and a 3.5 inch form factor. It spins at 15k rpm and is sold in new condition. The product was first listed by the manufacturer on 23 August 2019. Retail or OEM packaging may vary.

Suitable workloads and limits

This drive suits servers or workstations that need high rotational speed for transactional workloads and low-latency access. It is not for users who require larger capacities for bulk storage or archival. Systems without a SAS controller or backplane cannot use this drive. Desktop boards lacking the correct connector should look at something else.

Sustained operation behaviour

The 15k rpm spindle is designed for continuous duty in multi-drive arrays. Under sustained load the drive maintains consistent throughput for random I/O patterns typical of database or email servers. Heat output is higher than slower-spinning drives so adequate chassis airflow is required. Performance remains steady during extended write sequences.
