Dell G15 5515 Gaming Laptop

The Dell G15 5515 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop powered by a Ryzen 5 5600 six-core processor with a 4.4 GHz turbo frequency. It includes a dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card with GDDR6 memory, 16GB of system memory and a 1TB SSD. Windows 10 Home comes preinstalled with a free upgrade path to Windows 11.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits gamers and creators who want a 1080p display, dedicated RTX graphics and a six-core CPU in a portable chassis. It is not for buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher refresh rate panel or more than 16GB of memory. Users requiring the latest Wi-Fi standard beyond 802.11ac or a larger SSD capacity should consider other options.

The specification that decides fit

The GeForce RTX 3050 with 4GB GDDR6 determines whether this machine meets your graphics workload. If your games or applications demand more video memory or a higher GPU tier, this model will not be sufficient.

Questions about this item

How do I install a second SSD in the Dell G15 5515, and which screw size do people lose?

The chassis uses M2×3 mm screws for the SSD bracket; keep them on a magnetic mat while the bottom cover is off so the tiny screws do not fall into the fan cavity.

What maintenance will the RTX 3050 4 GB GDDR6 need after a year of daily gaming?

Clean the dual exhaust vents with compressed air every three months and replace the thermal paste on the GPU die if core temperatures rise noticeably during sustained loads.

Which thermal limit appears first on the Ryzen 5 5600H during a long compile or render job?

The processor hits its 4.4 GHz turbo ceiling and then throttles to 3.5 GHz base once the cooling solution saturates, so sustained clocks settle at the lower figure.
