Dell G15 5520 Gaming Laptop

The Dell G15 5520 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop powered by a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor with 14 cores and a 4.7 GHz turbo frequency. It pairs an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 memory with 32GB DDR5 system memory and a 2TB SSD. The 120Hz FHD display and Windows 11 Home complete a portable machine built for modern gaming and content creation.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers who want a high-refresh 120Hz screen, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and a 14-core mobile CPU for gaming and multitasking will find the specification aligned with those needs. Users who need a touchscreen, an SD card reader, a fingerprint reader, or a lighter chassis for daily commuting should consider alternatives that include those features.

The deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU with 6GB GDDR6 dedicated video memory. This graphics tier determines the resolution and quality settings achievable in current titles and governs performance in GPU-accelerated creative workloads. If the workload demands higher VRAM or a different GPU tier, this model will not match the requirement.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 120 Hz 250 nits 15.6" FHD display is running correctly after setup?

Open the Windows display settings and confirm the refresh rate is set to 120 Hz; the panel is a 1920 x 1080 WVA anti-glare LED backlit screen rated at 250 nits.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The laptop, power adapter and documentation are included; an SD card reader is not built in so an external USB reader is required for memory cards.
