Dell G15 5520 Gaming Laptop

The Dell G15 5520 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop built around a 12 core Intel Core i5 12500H processor that reaches 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 48GB of memory and a 2TB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 GPU with 4GB GDDR6 memory drives a 1920 x 1080 FHD display at 165Hz for responsive gameplay.

Sustained performance with Game Shift

Pressing FN plus F9 activates Game Shift, which maximises fan speed to maintain higher processor clocks during extended sessions. The cooling system is designed to keep thermals in check while the 12 core CPU and RTX 3050 GPU operate under continuous load. This helps frame rates stay consistent rather than throttling after a short burst.

Practical build and connectivity

The non touch FHD panel includes an integrated webcam for calls and streaming. Wireless 802.11ac and Bluetooth handle network and peripheral links without cables. The chassis uses a durable finish offered in Dark Shadow Grey, Phantom Grey with speckles or Specter Green, resisting daily wear while keeping the laptop easy to clean.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the G15 5520 get when the Core i5-12500H runs at 4.5 GHz all day?

Pressing FN + F9 activates Game Shift, which maximises fan speed to keep the system cool while the processor works harder during sustained loads.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the 15.6" 1920 x 1080 165 Hz panel and RTX 3050?

The laptop includes the display, dedicated RTX 3050 graphics with 4 GB GDDR6, integrated webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth, so no extra cables are required for basic operation.

Will the 48 GB memory and 2 TB SSD work with my older USB-A drives and external monitors?

The system provides 48 GB RAM and a 2304 GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro; compatibility with legacy USB-A storage and external displays depends on the ports present on this chassis.
