Gaming laptop with RTX 2060 graphics

The Dell G5 gaming laptop pairs a 15.6 inch FHD display with an Intel Core i7-8750H six-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 discrete graphics. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive handle games and everyday workloads. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. Thunderbolt, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort outputs support external monitors.

Sustained performance with dual-fan cooling

A dual-fan cooling system spreads heat across the chassis to keep the system responsive during extended gaming sessions. The i7-8750H runs at a 2.20 GHz base frequency and can reach a 4.1 GHz turbo frequency when thermal headroom allows. Six cores and 9 MB SmartCache maintain throughput for streaming and multitasking without rapid throttling.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The notebook measures 10.8 by 14.3 by 0.9 inches and weighs between six and 6.9 pounds. Battery life exceeds five hours for typical mixed use. A 720p webcam is integrated above the screen. LAN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provide wired and wireless connectivity options.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the dual-fan cooling get when the i7-8750H runs at 4.1 GHz all day?

The dual-fan system spreads heat to keep the laptop responsive during intense gameplay; fan noise rises under load but stays within typical gaming-laptop levels.

Which ports and cables must I already own to drive an external monitor at 1920 x 1080?

The laptop provides HDMI, Mini DP and Thunderbolt; any monitor cable matching one of those outputs will work for FHD.

Will my older USB-A peripherals and Ethernet cable plug straight in?

Yes — the chassis includes USB-A ports and a LAN jack so legacy mice, keyboards and wired networks connect without adapters.
