Pro 14 laptop with Core 5 120U

The DELL Pro 14 is a 14-inch business notebook built around an Intel Core 5 120U processor with ten cores and twelve threads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a Copilot key for quick access to AI-assisted features. The Magnetite chassis targets professionals who need a compact, managed device for daily productivity.

16 GB DDR5 and 256 GB M.2 SSD capacity

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR5 memory in a single SODIMM module leaves one slot free for expansion up to a 64 GB maximum. The 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive provides fast boot and application loading, though users with large local datasets will need external or cloud storage sooner rather than later.

IPS touchscreen and ExpressCharge

The 1920 by 1200 IPS panel delivers 300 nit brightness, 100 percent sRGB coverage and an anti-glare coating with ten-point touch input. ExpressCharge and ExpressCharge Boost reduce downtime between meetings. A privacy shutter covers the webcam, while Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi handle wired and wireless connectivity.

Questions about this item

Will the 14" 1920 x 1200 touchscreen work as a second display alongside an older 1080p monitor?

The IPS panel runs at 60 Hz with 300 nit brightness and 100% sRGB, so Windows can extend or duplicate the desktop to an external 1080p screen without scaling conflicts.

How do I verify the Core 5 120U is hitting its 5 GHz turbo and the 16 GB DDR5 is running at full speed after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance; the CPU graph should show bursts to 5 GHz under load and the memory tab must read 16 GB DDR5 in a single SODIMM.

The box lists a 256 GB M.2 SSD — does that leave the second M.2 slot free for an extra drive I supply?

Yes, the notebook has two M.2 slots total; the 256 GB drive occupies one, leaving the second slot open for a user-installed SSD.
