Dell GF538 260W Projector Lamp

This replacement module delivers a complete bulb-and-housing assembly rated at 260 watts and 2000 hours of rated life. It is built for Dell projectors that specify the GF538 part number and need a drop-in lamp change. The unit ships new and ready for immediate installation.

Compatibility Check Before Ordering

Verify that your Dell projector lists the GF538 code in its service manual or on the existing lamp label. Confirm the projector accepts a 260 watt P-VIP lamp and that the housing matches the mechanical keying of the original module. Cross-reference the part number rather than relying on projector model names alone.

When the Upgrade Makes Sense

This lamp replaces a depleted or dimming GF538 module and restores the projector to its original brightness specification. The jump is worth it when the current lamp has reached or exceeded its 2000 hour rating or shows colour shift and reduced output. It is not suited for users seeking higher lumen output than the projector's native design allows.

Questions about this item

Does the Dell GF538 come with the bulb already fitted inside the housing, or must I buy a bare bulb and install it myself?

The module ships as a complete assembly with a new Osram P-VIP 260W bulb pre-installed in the housing, so no separate bulb purchase or manual fitting is required.

How do I choose between the three OEM versions and the compatible version of the GF538?

All four versions meet ISO 9001 quality checks for beam performance, ignition, voltage, connections and run-time; select the OEM version matching your preferred bulb maker — Osram, Philips, Ushio, Phoenix, Iwasaki or Matsushita — or the lower-cost compatible version built with genuine OEM parts.

What does the 2000-hour rating mean for everyday use of the 260W lamp?

It indicates the expected operating time before brightness drops to roughly half; actual hours vary with projector model, power mode, cooling and how often the lamp is cycled on and off.
