Dell HT953 300 GB 15K SAS drive

The Dell HT953 is a 3.5-inch internal hard drive with a 300 GB capacity and a 15000 RPM spindle speed. It connects via a SAS 3Gb/s interface and includes a 16 MB buffer. The unit is supplied new with zero hours of operation.

Suits high-IOPS server workloads

This drive suits administrators who need low-latency random access for transactional databases or enterprise applications. It does not suit users who require larger capacities for archival storage, slower spindle speeds for reduced power draw, or a different interface standard.

15000 RPM spindle speed

The 15000 RPM rotational speed is the primary factor that determines whether this drive meets the performance target. It delivers the high IOPS needed for demanding server tiers but generates more heat and noise than slower alternatives.
