Dell Inspiron 1120 and 1121 Base Cover

This new bottom cover assembly replaces a damaged chassis on Dell Inspiron 1120 (M101z) and 1121 netbooks. It restores structural integrity and protects internal components. The part matches Dell part number R83XF for direct compatibility. Installation returns the laptop to its original form factor.

Includes rubber feet and battery latches

The bundle supplies rubber feet that prevent sliding on smooth surfaces and battery latches that secure the power pack. These small parts are often lost or broken during disassembly. Having them included avoids separate sourcing and ensures the battery locks firmly in place. The assembly arrives ready to fit.

Fits 1120 and 1121 models only

This cover is limited to the two listed Inspiron models and will not align with other Dell series. Speakers and bottom access doors are not supplied, so existing ones must be reused or bought separately. Buyers needing a complete palm-rest or keyboard deck must look elsewhere. The part addresses the base chassis alone.

Questions about this item

How often should the rubber feet on this R83XF base cover be replaced?

The rubber feet are part of the assembly and only need replacement if they wear down or detach during normal use.

Which component of the 1120 base cover is most likely to fail first under daily opening and closing?

The battery latches on the R83XF cover endure repeated stress and typically show wear before the main chassis.

Does the bottom cover assembly generate any heat or noise during extended operation?

The R83XF base cover is a passive plastic shell with no moving parts, so it produces no heat or noise on its own.
