15.6-inch FHD business laptop

The Dell Inspiron 15 3520 pairs a 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U processor with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Six cores and eight threads reach 4.4 GHz turbo for office workloads and multitasking. Windows 11 Pro ships pre-installed. Buyers needing discrete graphics or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Thermals and power in daily use

The 15.6-inch chassis measures 14.11 by 9.27 by 0.83 inches and weighs 3.65 pounds. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics keeps heat output modest during document editing and video calls. Fan noise stays low under typical productivity loads. The 65 W power adapter supplied by Dell matches the system draw.

Ports, camera and wireless

One USB 2.0 Type-A, two USB 5Gbps Type-A, HDMI 1.4 limited to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, an SD card slot and a combo audio jack provide legacy and modern connectivity. The 720p HD camera and dual-band Wi-Fi with Bluetooth cover conferencing needs. No backlit keyboard or fingerprint reader is included.

Questions about this item

How do I install extra memory in this Inspiron 15 3520 and which step is often missed?

The laptop uses DDR4 memory; the step people miss is seating the module fully until the side clips click, otherwise the system will not recognise the upgrade.

What maintenance will the 1TB PCIe SSD need over time?

No mechanical maintenance is required; keep at least 10 percent free space and run the Windows Optimise Drives tool occasionally to sustain write performance.

What limit appears first when the Core i3-1215U runs at 4.4 GHz for long periods?

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics thermal ceiling is reached first, causing the processor to throttle below its maximum turbo frequency.
