Dell Inspiron 16 5620 i7-1255U

This 16.0 inch laptop runs Windows 11 Home on a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 10 cores and a 4.7 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It includes 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX570 graphics handle light creative tasks.

Suitable users and limits

The 16:10 FHD+ anti-glare display and Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth 5.2 suit office work, study and media consumption. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of RAM or more than 512 GB of storage should look elsewhere. The non-touch screen and lack of a numeric keypad may not fit every workflow.

Deciding specification

The NVIDIA GeForce MX570 GPU is the single component that determines whether this laptop meets your graphics requirements. It provides entry-level discrete performance for casual editing but is not built for heavy 3D rendering or modern gaming at high settings.

Questions about this item

Does the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 box include a charger and can I add a second SSD without buying a caddy?

The laptop ships with its 65 W power adapter and a pre-installed 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 drive; the chassis has one M.2 slot, so a second SSD cannot be added.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4-3200 configuration or wait for a 64 GB version?

This unit comes with 16 GB DDR4-3200 soldered to the board; the platform supports up to 64 GB but no SO-DIMM slot is present, so the memory cannot be upgraded later.

What does the 4.7 GHz turbo on the Core i7-1255U mean for everyday workloads?

The 10-core processor can briefly reach 4.7 GHz on one or two cores, giving snappy response in Office, web browsing and light video edits, while the 12 MB cache keeps data close for multitasking.
