Product identity and audience

The Dell Inspiron 3505 is a 15.6 inch FHD touch laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 5 3450U processor with 8GB of memory and a 1TB NVMe solid state drive. It runs Windows 10 in S mode and uses integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics for everyday visual tasks. This configuration suits students, home users and remote learners who need a responsive, all-day device for web browsing, document work and media streaming. Buyers who want more storage, discrete graphics or a conventional non-touch display should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power

The Ryzen 5 3450U operates at a 2.10GHz base frequency within a low-power mobile envelope, so the cooling system runs quietly during typical office and school workloads. ExpressCharge technology replenishes the battery from zero to 80 percent within an hour, reducing the time you spend tethered to a power outlet. Under sustained load the chassis remains comfortable for lap use, and fan noise stays in the background for video calls or classroom sessions.

Build integration

The 1TB NVMe drive leaves no mechanical hard drive bay to manage, freeing internal space and keeping weight low for daily transport. A full-size keyboard and precision touchpad handle input without extra peripherals, while the 15.6 inch touchscreen adds direct manipulation for apps that support it. Windows 10 in S mode streamlines software installation to Microsoft Store apps, simplifying maintenance for less technical users. Dell Mobile Connect is available to link iOS and Android phones for notifications and file transfers.

Questions about this item

How is the 1 TB M.2 NVMe drive installed, and what step do people often miss?

The drive slots into the M.2 connector at a slight angle, then screws down flat; the step people miss is pressing it fully home before tightening the screw, otherwise the pins do not make contact.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8 GB memory need later?

The 8 GB is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; the only memory-related maintenance is keeping the OS and drivers current so the existing RAM runs efficiently.

What limit appears first during sustained use on the Ryzen 5 3450U with Vega 8 graphics?

The 15 W thermal envelope throttles the CPU and GPU clocks once the cooling system saturates, so sustained heavy workloads drop to lower frequencies after a few minutes.
