Inspiron 3505 15.6" FHD Touch laptop

The Inspiron 3505 is a 15.6 inch Full HD touch laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 5 3450U processor from the 3000 Series. It ships with 8GB of memory and a 256GB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 10 in S mode comes pre-installed for a streamlined software environment. The black chassis suits students, home users and anyone needing a portable daily driver.

Build integration and expandability

The system uses integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics, so no discrete graphics card is required and no extra power connectors are needed inside the chassis. The single NVMe drive handles the operating system and applications, leaving no 2.5 inch bay occupied by a hard drive. Memory sits at 8GB; buyers who want more storage or additional RAM will need to verify upgrade access themselves. Dell Mobile Connect can be added later for phone integration.

Sustained-load behaviour

ExpressCharging Mode brings the battery from empty to 80 percent in roughly one hour, reducing time tethered to an outlet during long sessions. The Vega 8 graphics share system memory, so extended multitasking or media editing will draw from the same 8GB pool. Windows 10 S mode limits software installation to the Microsoft Store unless switched out, which affects the range of background tasks that can run continuously.

Questions about this item

Will the Ryzen 5 3450U throttle when I run heavy workloads for hours?

The Ryzen 5 3450U is a 15 W mobile processor; sustained loads will eventually hit its thermal ceiling and clocks will drop to stay within that envelope.

How loud and hot does the Inspiron 3505 get during an all-day work session?

With only Vega 8 graphics and a slim 15.6" chassis, the single fan spins up noticeably under load and the keyboard deck warms to the touch after prolonged use.

Does the 256 GB NVMe drive leave a free M.2 slot for a second SSD?

The laptop ships with a single M.2 PCIe NVMe drive and no second M.2 bay, so adding storage requires replacing the existing module or using external USB drives.
