Everyday Windows laptop with touchscreen

This Dell Inspiron 3520 runs Windows 11 Pro and includes an Office 2024 licence. The 10-core Intel Core i5-1235U processor reaches 4.40 GHz turbo, backed by 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB PCIe SSD. A 15.6" FHD touchscreen handles daily productivity, web browsing and media playback. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the display without a discrete GPU.

Ports and connectivity for peripherals

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB 2.0 Type-A connect mice, keyboards and external drives. An HDMI 1.4b output adds a second monitor or projector. A headphone/microphone combo jack and an SD card reader cover audio and media import. Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth link wireless accessories and networks.

Capacity for heavy multitasking.

The 32 GB memory and 2 TB SSD give ample space for large document sets, local databases and many browser tabs. Integrated graphics suit office apps and video streaming but cannot handle modern 3D titles or GPU-accelerated rendering workloads. Buyers needing discrete graphics performance or upgradeable memory should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Will the 10-core i5-1235U throttle during long renders?

The 10-core i5-1235U runs at a 3.30 GHz base and can boost to 4.40 GHz, but sustained loads are limited by the laptop's cooling capacity.

How loud and hot does it get when the UHD Graphics runs all day?

Integrated UHD Graphics shares the CPU cooler, so fan noise and surface temperature rise with continuous GPU work.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to start using the 15.6" touchscreen?

The laptop includes its own power adapter; add a USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 Type-A mouse, an HDMI 1.4b display cable, or an SD card for extra storage.
