Ready-to-work laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3520 15 ships with Windows 11 Pro, a 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe solid-state drive. A 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen provides direct input for presentations and creative tasks. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handles everyday visual workloads. Buyers who need discrete graphics or a backlit keyboard should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise power

The slim chassis measures 14.11 by 9.27 by 0.83 inches and weighs 3.65 pounds, leaving limited space for airflow under sustained load. Fan noise will rise during extended compile or render sessions as the 15-watt-class processor maintains its 4.7 GHz turbo ceiling. Battery life varies with screen brightness and wireless activity.

Storage capacity

A single 1TB PCIe solid-state drive holds the operating system, applications and project files without the latency of a mechanical disk. The drive is not user-replaceable without opening the factory-sealed enclosure. Buyers who want a second internal drive or more than 1TB of onboard capacity cannot use this configuration.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1TB PCIe SSD in the Inspiron 3520, and which step do people get wrong?

The laptop ships with the 1TB PCIe SSD already fitted. No installation is required, so the common mistake is trying to open the chassis to add a drive that is already there.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 16GB DDR4 is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded or replaced by the user. If a fault occurs the whole mainboard must be serviced.

What limit appears first on the Core i7-1255U during sustained workloads?

The 10-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling before the 4.7 GHz turbo can be held, so clock speeds drop to stay within the cooling capacity.
