Dell Inspiron 3520 touchscreen laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop with a Full HD touchscreen running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 60 Hz display.

Suits office work and study.

This configuration suits students and office workers who need a responsive touchscreen for web apps, documents and video calls. The 16GB memory handles multitasking well. Buyers who want discrete graphics for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere, as the Iris Xe is integrated only.

Sustained performance on integrated graphics

Under continuous load the 4-core processor maintains clocks up to 4.2 GHz while the Iris Xe shares system memory. The 65W power supply and 41 WHr battery support typical productivity sessions. Thermal limits may reduce boost duration during extended heavy workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the i5-1135G7 need a specific DDR4 SO-DIMM speed to run at 4.2 GHz?

The processor supports DDR4 memory and ships with 16 GB at 8 GB DDR4; the turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz is managed by the CPU itself and does not require a faster module.

Can the HDMI port drive a 60 Hz 1080p monitor while the built-in 15.6" touchscreen stays active?

Yes, the HDMI output and the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics can mirror or extend to an external 1920 x 1080 display at 60 Hz alongside the internal panel.

How do I confirm the 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD is recognised at full speed after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click the disk labelled 256 GB and verify the interface shows PCIe and the active transfer rates match NVMe specifications.
