Dell Inspiron 3520 15.6 120Hz laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop with a 120 Hz Full HD display, Intel Core i5 11th Gen processor, 32GB DDR4 memory and 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Home and uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. The chassis is carbon black and weighs 3.6lb.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This configuration suits office workers, students and home users who need large local storage and a smooth 120 Hz screen for everyday tasks and video playback. Buyers who want more storage than 8TB or a discrete GPU for gaming or 3D rendering should look at other models.

The specification that decides fit

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD capacity combined with integrated graphics, which fixes both total storage and graphics performance for the life of the device.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD in the Inspiron 3520, and which step is often missed?

The 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD fits the M.2 slot inside the chassis; remove the base cover, insert the drive at an angle, then secure it with the single screw — people often forget to reinstall the thermal pad that sits between the drive and the shield.

What maintenance or replacement will the 41 WHr 3-cell battery need later?

The 41 WHr 3-cell battery is internal; after several hundred charge cycles its runtime drops, so plan to have a technician replace the entire pack when it no longer holds a usable charge.

What limit appears first on the Core i5-1135G7 during sustained loads?

The 15 W sustained power envelope of the i5-1135G7 is reached before thermal limits, so clocks settle to the base 2.40 GHz once the 65 W adapter can no longer maintain the 4.2 GHz turbo.
