Ready for multitasking workflows

The Dell Inspiron 3520 pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 four-core processor with 64GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro runs on the 15.6-inch 120Hz IPS panel. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 1920x1080 display for office, study and light creative tasks.

Sustained performance profile

The 4.2 GHz turbo frequency and 8MB cache handle extended compile, render or spreadsheet sessions without thermal throttling typical of thinner ultraportables. 64GB DDR4 keeps large datasets resident, reducing swap to the NVMe drive during long workloads. The 65W power adapter supplies continuous charge while the 41 WHr battery buffers brief unplugged periods.

Thermals noise and power

A single fan cools the 2.40 GHz base chip; acoustics stay low during typical productivity but rise under prolonged multi-thread load. Surface temperatures remain comfortable for lap use at idle and moderate web browsing. The 65W brick and 3-cell battery combine for roughly one full workday of mixed use before recharge.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get when the Core i5-1135G7 runs at its 4.2 GHz turbo for hours?

The 65 W power supply and 41 WHr battery limit sustained power draw, so the cooling system rarely spins up to an intrusive level during typical workloads.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 15.6" 120 Hz display and 1 TB PCIe NVMe storage out of the box?

No extra peripherals are required; the laptop includes the display, storage, Windows 11 Pro, a 65 W charger, webcam, keyboard and trackpad in a single unit.

Will my existing USB 2.0 and HDMI accessories work with the single USB 2.0 port and HDMI output on this chassis?

Yes, the one USB 2.0 port and HDMI port accept standard USB 2.0 devices and HDMI cables, so older mice, keyboards, drives and external monitors connect directly.
