Core specification

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6-inch touchscreen laptop powered by an 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor with four cores and eight threads. It ships with 64GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive running Windows 11 Home. The Full HD display operates at 60 Hz and supports touch input.

Upgrade profile

This unit replaces a standard configuration that typically includes 8GB or 16GB of memory and a smaller drive. The jump to 64GB of DDR4 and a 512GB NVMe SSD is worth it when you run multiple virtual machines, large spreadsheets or memory-hungry creative applications. The integrated Iris Xe graphics remain unchanged from the base model.

Best fit and limits

The laptop suits office professionals, students and remote workers who need abundant RAM for multitasking and fast storage for project files. Buyers who require a discrete graphics processor for 3D rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. The single USB 2.0 port and HDMI output limit peripheral expansion for users with many accessories.

Questions about this item

What size DDR4 SO-DIMM slots does the Inspiron 3520 use for its 64 GB memory?

The laptop takes standard DDR4 SO-DIMM modules; the 64 GB configuration fills the available slots with this memory type.

Which screw or clip secures the 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD during installation?

The M.2 2280 SSD is held by a single retention screw on the motherboard; overtightening can strip the thread.
