Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop for everyday productivity

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop built around an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB 2230 PCIe NVMe SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 120 Hz Full HD IPS display. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle routine visual tasks.

Suits office workers and students needing

This configuration suits office workers and students who value a smooth 120 Hz panel for documents and web browsing. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a discrete graphics card for gaming or creative rendering should look at a different system.

256 GB 2230 PCIe NVMe SSD determines upgrade path

The single specification that decides fit is the 256 GB 2230 PCIe NVMe SSD. The 2230 form factor limits future storage expansion to drives of the same physical length, so buyers planning larger capacity upgrades must verify compatible 2230 modules before purchase.

Questions about this item

Can the 8GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop ships with 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM; one slot is used, so a second module can be added for more capacity.

Will the 120 Hz 15.6" display hit a thermal throttle before the i5-1135G7 reaches its 4.2 GHz turbo?

The 15W-class i5-1135G7 and 65W power supply limit sustained clocks before the 120 Hz panel becomes a bottleneck.

How loud does the fan get and what is the battery life with the 41 WHr pack during all-day use?

The 3-cell 41 WHr battery and 65W charger mean moderate fan noise under load and roughly 5–7 hours of mixed productivity work.
