14.0" HD ThinkPad T480

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0-inch laptop with an HD 1366 x 768 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor with a 1.60 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD. It ships without an operating system installed.

Business users needing legacy OS flexibility

This unit suits buyers who want a durable 14-inch chassis to install their own Linux distribution or Windows licence. It is not for users who require a factory-activated Windows environment out of the box. Buyers needing a higher-resolution panel or discrete graphics should look elsewhere. The 128GB drive may limit users with large local media libraries.

16GB DDR4 with 32GB maximum support

The laptop provides 16GB DDR4 across two slots with a 32GB maximum capacity. This specification decides if the memory ceiling meets your workload requirements. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles video output. The 2.5" SATA SSD interface determines storage upgrade options.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get when the Intel Core i5-8250U runs at 3.40 GHz for hours?

The quad-core processor has a base speed of 1.60 GHz and a turbo of 3.40 GHz; fan noise rises under sustained load but stays within typical office limits.

What must I supply to start the laptop since it ships with no operating system?

You need a bootable USB drive with your chosen OS installer and a valid licence key; the 128 GB 2.5" SATA SSD is blank and ready for installation.

Will my existing DDR4 SO-DIMM modules work alongside the 16 GB already installed?

The system has two memory slots and supports up to 32 GB total, so you can add one compatible DDR4 stick to reach the maximum.
