Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop for everyday computing

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop built around a 12th Generation Intel Core i5-1235U processor with 10 cores and a turbo frequency of 4.40GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. This configuration suits students and office workers who need a reliable machine for documents, web browsing and video calls.

Integrated graphics and display limits

The system uses Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics which share system memory and are designed for general productivity and media playback rather than intensive 3D work. The 15.6 inch Full HD LED panel delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution on a non-touch screen. Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 802.11AC and Bluetooth 4.2 for standard peripheral and network links.

Single 1TB SSD as the storage constraint

Storage is provided by a single 1TB SSD with no secondary drive bay mentioned in the specifications. Users who maintain large local media libraries or multiple virtual machines will need to plan for external or cloud storage expansion. The laptop includes two USB 3.2 ports and one USB 2.0 port alongside an HDMI output for external displays.

Questions about this item

Which configuration of the Inspiron 3520 should I pick for a balance of speed and storage?

This model ships with a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U 10-core processor, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD, so there is only one version to choose.

What does the 4.40GHz turbo frequency actually deliver in daily work?

The 10-core CPU can boost up to 4.40GHz from its 1.30GHz base, giving short bursts of extra speed for demanding tasks before returning to lower power.

What wireless standard does the laptop use and what speed ceiling does it impose?

It uses Wi-Fi 802.11AC and Bluetooth 4.2, so wireless throughput is capped at the AC standard’s maximum and Bluetooth at version 4.2 limits.
