13th Gen Core i7 touchscreen laptop

The Dell Inspiron 3530 pairs a 10-core i7-1355U processor with 12 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVME solid-state drive. A 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution for direct interaction. Windows 11 Home and a Microsoft Office licence ship pre-installed.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 45-watt AC adapter and 3-cell battery set the power envelope for extended sessions. Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so heavy graphical tasks draw from the same 12 GB pool. Thermal headroom is defined by the standard chassis and the U-series processor base frequency of 1.20 GHz.

Build, ports and daily use

The black chassis measures 14.15 by 9.25 by 0.90 inches and weighs 3.5 lb. Connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, HDMI, an SD card reader and a headset jack. Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 handle wireless links. A 720p webcam sits above the display.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the i7-1355U get when the 45-watt charger is plugged in all day?

The 45-watt AC adapter matches the system's 45 W power supply rating, so the laptop draws only what it needs without oversized bricks that add heat.

Which ports do I already need on my monitor or dock to connect this 3530?

You need an HDMI input for external video and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 or USB 2.0 port for peripherals; the laptop also has an SD card reader and a headset jack.

Will my older USB 2.0 mouse and HDMI monitor work with the 3530's USB 3.2 and HDMI ports?

Yes — USB 3.2 Gen 1 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, and the single HDMI port drives legacy 1080p displays at 1920 x 1080.
